Fellowship program for emerging leaders
The Minbar summer fellowship will be fully sponsored residential three-week fellowship bringing together up to 24 participants of both genders drawn from non-academic backgrounds who are early in their careers as practitioners in the public and private sectors, and from civil society, Fellows will be drawn from across Somalia ensuring a good balance of representation.
The fellows will develop leadership skills to equip them to become change makers in their sectors. Training will be delivered by Somali and non-Somali scholars. This intensive training will equip fellows with tactics and confidence to take a leading role in the transformation of the country. Modules will include rule of law, public policy, election practice, and anti-corruption measures. Fellows will be exposed to a wide range of ideas and thinkers that they can draw upon as they progress in their careers. Some fellows may also join a mentorship cohort further benefiting from the Minbar approach.
